Synopsis:

Having read Blowing on Dandelions, I was eager to continue this series! I loved returning to Baker City, Oregon, and delving deeper into the lives of Beth Roberts and Jeffery Tucker. Both of these characters harbored secrets from their pasts and unanswered questions plagued them. This intriguing storyline, coupled with complex characters, kept me turning the pages and wanting to know more.
I also enjoyed catching up with the other colorful characters who were introduced in Blowing on Dandelions. It was a pleasure to revisit the boardinghouse, which continued to bustle with the activities of its residents.
Miralee Ferrell has penned a story that is full of heart and emotion; one that will draw you in and surround you with comforting hope. I highly recommend Wishing on Buttercups and eagerly await more stories in this wonderful series!

Biography:
Miralee Ferrell is a speaker, accredited counselor, and former ACFW chapter president who has published multiple contemporary and historical romance novels since starting to write in 2005. She enjoys horseback riding, gardening, and family gatherings around their eleven-acre property in Washington State’s beautiful Columbia River Gorge. Miralee has had eight books release, both in women’s contemporary fiction and historical fiction, with another 5 under contract. She’s an award-winning author of Western fiction, and her newest novel, Wishing on Buttercups released February 1, and is the second in a series set in Baker City, Oregon, 1880s.

Hi Melanie, oh yes, absolutely! Especially at night, LOL! Sometimes they get talkative and won’t let me sleep. In fact, in my book The Other Daughter, and in the book I”m working on now, Forget Me Not, I’ve had to get up and write entire scenes in the wee hrs, because I couldn’t shut off their voices until I did–kind of sounds like someone who might need her head examined, huh! Miralee, Where do you get inspiration for the characters in your novels?

Hi Melissa, thank you for stopping by! Most of my characters are simply made up in my head, although I do occasionally take bits and pieces of someone’s personality, or several woven together, to make up a part of a character. I’m very careful not to ever present a person I know factually, though.

Hi Brittney, so good to see you here! There will be at least four in this series….3 full-length books, with the next full length novel, Dreaming on Daisies, coming Oct. 1. There will be a novella called Forget Me Not that follows Pastor Seth, who is featured in both books, and it releases in mid to late March on Amazon Kindle and paperback only to start. It may expand beyond that after the first month or so to Nook and other formats.

Hi Beth, thank you for the sweet compliment on my covers. My publisher is wonderful in that they allow me a lot of input on my covers, but they have a design team that takes my suggestions and turns them into pure art. I get a sample cover and I’m able to make suggestions or tweaks, which I love. This is the most workable company I’ve ever been with or heard of, and I love the freedom they give me to help direct and create the covers. But the team does all the true creative work.

Hi Linda, I can’t agree with you more. I enjoy reading a book on my tablet, but if it’s one I truly love, then I enjoy having it on my shelf where I can pick it up again and again. Besides, if everything electronic crashes, I’ll still have books to read by lantern or candles, LOL! Yes, this IS my favorite time period–anywhere from 1865-1890—the years where the West was being developed and pioneers were settling the land. Thanks for stopping by!

I’ve had a number of surprises in books that I’ve written…my biggest in this series was when Mrs. Roberts showed up at the boardinghouse. I had no idea when I started writing the first book that she would be part of the story. I’m so glad she made an appearance, as she’s added so much to the fun with her slowly blossoming friendship and ongoing banter with Mrs. Cooper.

Hi! I was laying in bed almost asleep and thinking about the book…the woman who was hurting and wishing for things to change with her mother, and remembering how she used to blow on dandelion fluff and make wishes. The title came to me then, as I envisioned the woman sitting in a grassy field,…. Blowing on Dandelions…..the other two titles were birthed from that one, as we decided to keep a flower theme to go with Love Blossoms in Oregon (series title), and with a little thought and help from friends, the other titles were born. Hi! Thanks for the great question and for stopping by to take part! Yes, you can find one of my dogs and one that belonged to my daughter (he died from cancer 3 yrs ago at the age of 8–a beautiful big German Shepherd who is featured on the backdrop of my FB profile page). The other dog in that same picture, a little B&W Border Collie named Dakota, is in another book. One of my daughter’s horse has appeared, as well. At this time I have two dogs and two cats, as I lost my horse to old age this past summer.

Hi,Emma! Thanks for your question. I had to work writing this book into a very hectic schedule, along with edits on book one, Blowing on Dandelions, and starting to write another book, as well as juggling home and life. I think it took me 4-5 months, off and on. If I could write straight through without any interruptions AND knew exactly where I was going at any given time, I could easily do it in 45-60 days, but that never happens. 🙂
As readers, we often wish we could meet the author of a book in person. Is there an author you would love to meet, and why?

My favorite thing to do when it’s nice weather (anytime except winter) is ride horses with my daughter….we have awesome trails right here near our home. I also spend time in my flower beds and garden, which is relaxing and gets me away from the computer.

Hi Tammy, I’m so glad you stopped by! I’ve never had a chance to own or use a Mac, as they’re a bit out of my price range, but I’ve heard great things about them from writer friends. I’ve always used a PC … right now it’s an Acer laptop, and it does great!
