I love reading Regina Jennings’ stories because I know they will bring smiles and laughter, and For the Record did just that! While it is the third book in the Ozark Mountain Romance series, this novel reads as a stand-alone story.

Rich characterization and romantic chemistry bring Joel and Betsy’s story to life, and I delighted in their antics. The adventures in Pine Gap continue as a thread of mystery weaves its way through the narrative, adding an element of intrigue to the entertaining story line. I thoroughly enjoyed this cleverly crafted tale and can’t wait to read more!

My thoughts:

At Love’s Bidding is a cleverly crafted historical romance! Book 2 in the Ozark Mountain Romance series, this novel reads as a stand-alone story. However, those who have read A Most Inconvenient Marriage will enjoy revisiting some beloved characters.

I delighted in Miranda Wimplegate and Wyatt Ballentine and their auction house adventures! The thread of mystery that brings these two characters together adds an interesting element to the story line and to the romance that develops. While Miranda and Wyatt’s story is filled with humor, it also shares some poignant moments as well.

At Love’s Bidding boasts its own unique charm, as only Regina Jennings can create. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to more!

After the war, Abigail fulfills her side of the bargain–until the real Jeremiah Calhoun shows up, injured but definitely alive, and wastes no time in challenging Abigail’s story. Abigail is flummoxed. After months of claiming to be his widow, how can she explain that she’s never seen this Jeremiah Calhoun before? How can she convince him that she isn’t trying to steal his farm? And will she find a way to stay, even though this practical arrangement has turned into a most inconvenient marriage?

Thoughts:

I was immediately drawn to this book, first by the cover and then by the title.  As I read the back cover, I knew this was a story I would love! 

I enjoy Civil War era stories and I was quickly captivated by this one.  The historical details are rich and the Ozark Mountain setting is vivid.  Abigail Stuart and Jeremiah Calhoun are engaging characters and their story, with its unique circumstances, is full of emotion, from heart-wrenching to heartwarming.  This delightful tale has it all- trials and tribulations, humor and hijinks, faith and forgiveness, and a stirring romance.  I loved A Most Inconvenient Marriage and can’t wait to read more from this incredibly talented author!
